Saved instructions
Persona and user notes
Set your name and intro in the story with a persona, and leave user notes on what you'd like from the character. Save instructions you use often and switch them on and off.

Choose novel style, read like a book, or chat style in speech bubbles, and set how long replies are. You can also make it the default for new stories in My.

See what the character must remember and the story so far, and edit or hide it yourself. Regenerate the last reply, or edit the message you just sent.

Auto-generate each step
Fill in the basic settings, lead, supporting cast and opening message with Auto-generate, then edit until it feels right. You can also fill in the template with an AI like ChatGPT or Claude and paste it in.

When you publish, AI checks your story against the publishing rules and it goes live right away. Our team reviews published stories. You can also share by link only, or keep them private, just for you.
Play with friends. Hand the story to a friend and a branch in their name starts from that point. Invite up to 5 friends, and up to 3 people can talk together on one branch with no turns.

What is Foly?
An AI character chat app where you carry on stories with no fixed ending alongside AI characters. You can also make your own characters and stories and share them. It is not a dating service that introduces you to real members. It is for users aged 18 and over (15 and over in South Korea).
What is an Open Story?
A chat with AI characters that starts in the middle of a scene. There's no script, so it changes with what you say and do — write actions between asterisks, like *I open the door*, and the character shows you what happens. Restart from an earlier message to start a new branch, or invite friends to carry it on together.
Can I make my own story?
In the Create tab you can auto-generate or write your own characters and opening scene, then polish them in a preview chat. When you publish, AI checks it against the publishing rules and others can see it right away, and our team reviews published stories.
Does it cost anything?
Signing up and using Foly is free. Each AI character reply uses Crys, the in-app currency, and the amount depends on the chat model. The default model, Luna, comes with free chats every day. Crys can also be earned through daily check-ins and activity.
Is it safe?
Sign-up requires a date of birth, and users under 18 (under 15 in South Korea) cannot join. You can report character profiles, chat messages, and stories and creators made by users, and our team reviews every report. We apply a zero-tolerance child safety (CSAE) policy.

Foly is available on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iOS, and on the web (folyapp.com) with the same account.
