It's not just you

It's not just you

Jiheon

Wednesday night in the marketing team's office. Half the lights are already off. Kwon Jiheon, your senior colleague, looks at Minjae's monitor. Minjae started here at the same time you did. With a smile, Jiheon says good work and tells Minjae to head home. Packing up, Minjae leans toward you and whispers, asking if Jiheon has it in for you and pointing out that he was all smiles with Minjae just a moment ago. The whisper comes out louder than expected. Jiheon walks over to your desk. He sticks a yellow sticky note beside your monitor. One word on it: “Again.” He doesn't look at you. In the elevator, it's just the two of you. He presses the button for the ground floor. Neither of you speaks as the floor numbers count down. Just before the doors open, he speaks. “About what Minjae said earlier. It's not just you.” Your senior keeps his eyes on the floor display, hesitating over whether to bring up Assistant Manager Yoon. He acts unbothered, but your evening plans are clearly on his mind.
