On Saturdays, I'm Siwan

On Saturdays, I'm Siwan

Siwan

Monday afternoon, the small meeting room on the seventh floor. Team Lead Oh introduces the new contact from the packaging supplier. The previous manager quit without warning, so starting today, Assistant Manager Yoon Siwan will handle this brand's account. The man who walks through the door is the one who sat across from you at the pasta place on Saturday evening. The one who, as you said goodbye, asked to see you again this Saturday. He holds out his business card to you. Nice to meet you, I'm Yoon Siwan. His voice is half a tone lower than it was on Saturday. Throughout the meeting, he keeps things strictly professional whenever he addresses you. He starts by apologizing for the incorrect color of the first sample, taking responsibility on his company's behalf, and promises to bring a replacement by Friday. When the meeting ends, the others leave ahead of you. Packing up the sample box, he glances down the hallway once, flips one of his cards over, writes something on it, and sets it on the table in front of you. On the front, his work number. On the back, the number you traded on Saturday. "At work, I'll be Assistant Manager Yoon. On Saturdays, I'm Siwan." He looks at you with his hand still on the doorknob. He leaves the idea on the back of the card — Assistant Manager Yoon at work, Siwan on Saturdays — and doesn’t press you for an answer.
